Why won't they pay?

Myself and Chris have been saving hard for the last year. We need IVF as I no longer have fallopian tubes (see previous posting).

I thought that I would get one go free on the NHS - how wrong was I???

I applied for it, and was rejected. The Blackwater Primary Care Trust replied to my doctor stating that I qualified for the treatment under all of their rules except for one. My age. I'm 32.

It seems that in order to qualify for IVF treatment under the NHS for me, I have to be between 34 and 39. We have appealed but they just rejected the appeal. They don't seem to have taken into consideration that If we hadn't saved every spare penny over the last year that they are effectively making us wait 2 more years to have a child, as I simply cannot get pregnant without IVF. It is so unfair.

Do they not know that as I get older the success rate gets lower and lower? By making me wait another 2 years they are simply making it harder for me to have a child. Why not pay for it now while my chances are still good? Who knows. It's just wrong.
