First injection

I wanted to post this last night, but the blog tool thing was down for maintenance, so I wasn't able to :(

At exactly 8pm last night I had my first injection of Bureselin, I was quite nervous about doing it myself as I've never done an injection on me before, so I went to a friends house and asked her to do it, she was more than happy to help!

I took the little cap off the bottle of liquid and took out a fresh syringe, the needle is about 1.5 cm long and it has to go all the way in. After filling it with 0.5ml of Buserelin I was ready to go.

Sarah put on her gloves (health and safty!) and used the little swap to clean the area she was going to jab in my stomach - then just stuck it in! It did hurt a little, more of a sting than anything but not too bad. Then she slowly pushed the plunger until all the drugs were in - all gone! (I have been given a sharps bin to dispose of the used syringes).

So that was it - all done!

An hour or so later, the area where the needle went in did feel quite sore, but more like a bruise. I think I will do it in the opposite side tonight.

An online friend who is also doing her jabs gave me a helpful tip, she is one day ahead of me and said that if you pinch a bit of skin/fat before you put the needle in it helps, so I will also try this! Anything to make it easier.

I have 28 more days to go with injections, so I had better get used to it. Only 13 more days until my baseline scan :)
