Mostly a great weekend

I haven't posted all weekend as I've not really been home! so I will have to back-fill on what I've been up to!

Saturday I went to a rock gig in Milton Keynes! I went with Sarah to see Nickelback (although Bon Jovi were the headline band), the weather was gorgeous - very hot which made for an even better day.

We set off around 2pm and took a leisurely drive round the M25 and up the M1 to Milton Keynes, we were right to leave a little late as we didn't want to get stuck in huge traffic jams - the gates opened at 2.30, and having been to the MK bowl before I know better than to try to get there early!

We got parked easily and headed for the bowl, found a perfect spot to put down a blanket and spend the rest of the day sunbathing and listening to great music.

I took a photo on my mobile phone (because I forgot to take a camera! DOH!), here is our view:

The first bad was called Spin - they were from Leeds and not bad, however Nickelback totally rocked - as expected. I think they are my favourite band right now. Love them.

They finished around 7.30pm which was good timing as we both needed to pee by then and I had to find somewhere I could do my injection!

I decided the best thing to do was to go to the First Aid place and ask them if I could use their cabin to do my injection. They were great and said yes - they even let me use their sharps bin to dispose of the needle safely (I had taken a little plastic tube thing to carry it in just in case!). Job done.

Bon Jovi were pretty good, We got to hear a few of the oldies from the Slippery When Wet album, which is always a favourite. But we decided to take the sensible option and leave early to ensure a fast exit from the field (car park) and to avoid the 2 hour wait that I once had there when we left with the entire 75,000 strong crowd. Good move, we were home around midnight!

Sunday we were rudely woken (this is the mostly bad part of the weekend) AGAIN by next doors kids at 7.30am. The youngest boy is 6 (we know this as it is his birthday today) and he is one of the LOUDEST children I've ever known. He screams a lot. Like a girl. He shouts loudly (if he's not deaf already he will be by the time he's 10!) and when his older brother (who I think is 7) is mean to him he cries - again very loudly. Both Saturday and Sunday of this weekend they have been out in the garden playing from 7.30am - 9am. LOUDLY. Both days we were woken by his screaming and crying. No wonder I'm a little cranky at the moment - a girl needs her lie ins on the weekend! (OK so I know this will stop when we have a baby, but until then I intend to make the most of it!)

So, anoyed and a little tired we got up and decided it was best to go out as we knew it was his birthday and that he was having a party - best to avoid a screaming head-ache and just go somewhere for the day.

We went to Bognor Regis first, but didn't stay as there didn't seem to be much there, so we drove back along the coast and visited Pagham, then Selsey (where we had a pretty crap lunch in a pub that stated 'superb quality food' -hmmm I beg to differ! Then we went on to East Wittering and finally drove home - we didn't stop long in each place as they are only tiny, and the beaches are all pebble along there - so not much fun to walk along - next time we will head towards Weymouth where it's all sandy!

Here is a little map of the areas we went to, if you click on the pic you can see a bigger version:

Anyway - it's still HOT here and I'm quite tired, so I'll fill in anything else over the next few days. I hope you had a great weekend too!
