A crazy busy and fun week!

Last Tuesday my good friend Pat arrived from America to visit for 10 days. 2 hours after she arrived we were on our way up to Birmingham for a James Blunt gig! We stayed the night in a Travelodge and had a fab night out.

Our tickets for that night gave us seats in the 5th row, right in the centre so we had an amazing view of the show. It was just brilliant.

The following day we set off for Manchester where for a very reasonable price we stayed in a hotel called The Place where we had a fabulous 2 bedroom apartment, fully furnished with 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and living room with dining table.

The gig that night was also brilliant, we we up on the side this time so we got to see it from a different view, and loved every second.

Then on to York, where we stayed in the worst hotel I've stayed in for some time! It was the same price as the 2 bed apartment and was awful.

The hotel was the York Minster and for £109 it was a rip off. The room we were in was on the third floor, which meant hauling suitcases up 3 flights of stairs, only to find the room was small and the bathroom was nasty!

The tiles on the floor of the bathroom haven't been replaced in some time, they were ALL cracked and many of them were easy to lift right up! some were uneven which left you in danger of cutting your feet when getting out the shower, or worse getting up to pee in the middle of the night when it's dark! The bathroom was also quite mouldy so that wasn't very nice either.

The food however was great - we ate at the restaurant that night and had the fillet steak served on a black rock grill. Oh my god - absolutely delicious!

We are back home now and back to work, Chris didn't get to do this road trip with me and diligently stayed at home finishing up the project which finally launched last night (will tell more later).

Pat will be here until Friday, and tomorrow night we will take our 2nd row seats at the O2 in London for the final gig in our James Blunt UK tour! I can't wait :)
