Yesterday afternoon was my first antenatal midwife appointment! I never got this far before - I did have one booked for the 2nd time I was pregnant but lost the baby before we got to the date.
After the scan yesterday morning, I am now feeling much more confident in this pregnancy so I went to see the Midwife with a big smile! It was fairly standard really, we filled in a form that is my new pregnancy record book, she took some blood for various tests (blood group, rubella, glucose levels, HIV, Hepetitus and a few other things!) I know these results will come back ok as I had to do these before I started IVF, so for me it's just a standard procedure.
I also had to provide a urine sample - another standard thing that I think I've done so many times now! She ran through a few other things with me, mostly things I already know as I'm quite clued up these days - like things I shouldn't be eating etc.
Last night we went out for dinner! We went out to an Italian near Woking and met up with 16 of the girls that I chat to on Fertility Friends! We had a really nice night out, the food was great and we got home around 11.30pm (way past my bedtime these days!!)
I've also added a new ticker to the top of this site - do you like it? It will update each week I think with a little comment on what baby is doing this week. So cute.
