Not much to report

It's the weekend, Chris is home (and been working!) and there isn't much to report!

For now the bleeding seems to have stopped again, how long for I have no idea, let's hope for good! I still have a nasty cough which has also given me a sore throat, so I've spent most of the weekend eating lockets (throat sweets for you Americans!) and drinking honey and lemon at every opportunity.

We did get to go out a little in between Chris working, and popped into Reading. Didn't buy anything although I did try on a couple of new bras - I wasn't successful in getting one though as they were all horrible and I hate shopping for bras so I gave up. On the plus side I now know what size I am and I'm definitely bigger than I was before I got pregnant. I think I will pop into town during the week and keep looking as I really need to buy a new one pretty soon!

Oh, one thing that did happen today (how could I forget!) the damn cooker hob has broken. It appears that when you turn the rings on, absolutely NO gas comes out at all. They simply refuse to light. This is a bit of a nightmare as it means I can't cook anything that requires any kind of saucepan. I was cooking a chicken in the oven, but we ended up having salad with it instead of a nice roast dinner, as I couldn't boil any potatoes or do the gravy. I'm lucky I have a steamer for veg but what the hell, may as well do salad and jacket spud! At least the microwave and oven still work!

I telephoned a gas repair man and he seems to think that a valve has broken in the bit where the lid lifts up (there is an automatic gas shut off system when the glass lid is put down). My choices are to pay him up to £150 to come out and fix it (assuming he can get a part for it) or to buy a new one.

I have looked on the internet tonight and I think I'm going to go out tomorrow and buy a new one as they really aren't that expensive - I've seen them from £100 up so if I have to pay that much to get the old one fixed - may as well get a new one! The company that sells them will also deliver and fit for about £30 so it seems the best way forward! To be honest we could really do without this, but shit happens and you gotta deal with it. Arse.
