Whats happening at 11 weeks?

According to my research this week the babies have all their parts, from tooth buds to toenails. They are busy kicking and stretching; their movements are so fluid they look like water ballet.

Fingers and toes have fully separated. Now their main task during the next six months will be to grow larger and stronger until they can survive on their own outside the womb.

At the size of a plumb, each baby is now able to swallow. The urinary system functions and they will be swallowing and urinating the amniotic fluid and the fluid is continually replaced. The baby is kicking but the mother cannot feel it yet.

We are almost at the end of the first Trimester!

I'm still feeling very nervous about this pregnancy, with the bleeding making a return this week (although the last 2 days have been really good with hardly anything) I'm still reminded that things can go wrong at any stage which keeps me on my toes.

I had a horrible headache yesterday and took a single paracetamol, which was pretty useless as a painkiller, so a rest on the sofa was the next thing and it seemed to help.

Roll on 12 weeks and the next scan!
